progress update
I am really excited on how the project is looking. I took some care in the color scheme. I really embraced the pixel theme. I have 5 enemies created, and they are looking nice in the game and are destroying on contact. No typos preventing me to detect trigger event callbacks. I was going to make everything from scratch, but I ended up downloading pixel fonts from the asset store. That really helped the UI during game play for keeping score.
Now I am going to look in to creating explosion on contact from bullets and , hopefully, digging into the game logic for managing players lives and resetting the level. I plan on having 6 levels with total of three lives for the player. I'm sure more lives are gettable during game play, just hadn't implemented that feature yet. Score is going to be kept for and between levels. The player is just going to have to survive the levels enemy waves. He can shoot and score points for different enemy ships that are attacking.
